Vt. cancer survivor defies the odds & gives back

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A South Burlington man diagnosed with brain cancer over a decade ago has defied the odds, and is celebrating the 10th anniversary of a nonprofit aimed at finding a cure.

Eric Gilcris founded the organization Cancer Canknot, which has donated over $100,000 to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center. And coming up on June 27, they are partnering with the Vermont Lake Monsters to host Cancer Canknot Night at Centennial Field.

Cat Viglienzoni spoke with Eric and Ann Gilcris about the organization and their journey.
